Addition and Subtraction Within 100 Worksheets
These worksheets mix addition and subtraction with numbers up to 100, including two-digit plus one-digit problems like 7 + 92. No problem needs regrouping.
Mixing the operations means children have to read each sign and think about place value every time, instead of following a routine. It is a good check before moving on to regrouping.

Worked example
7 + 92
- 7 is a one-digit number, so it only has ones.
- Add it to the ones of 92: 2 + 7 = 9.
- The 9 tens stay the same.
- So 7 + 92 = 99.
Common mistakes
- Adding a one-digit number to the tens, so 7 + 92 becomes 162. Lining the numbers up by place value fixes this.
- Mixing up + and โ partway down the page. Circle the signs first.
Tips for practicing at home
- Ask for an estimate before solving: "Will the answer be more or less than 92?"
- Write problems in columns on graph paper.
- Use the printable answer key so your child can check their own work.
